Another terrorist attack, another Bomb blast, few deaths, few injuries, few economic losses. These have become a part and parcel of Indian life.
Location changes, outfits involved changes, but the impact remains same, the intentions remain same.
This time the location was Bangalore, the Garden city, the IT city. As in the past, TV, Newspapers and all sources of media will report it in headlines, then will make analysis and then forget it. People have lost interest; they comment about sad state and then forget it accepting the defeat against fate. Police make few investigations, claim the "friends" across the border are behind it and then forget it, no arrest no results. Government and politicians make their speeches, ruling parties saying "Terrorism has no religion" and asking "Majority to maintain calm" and the opposition saying "Government is soft on terror" and then forget it.
The Question should be asked, are anybody concerned? Is anybody ready to see the "Larger Picture"? Ready to do anything to safeguard ourself against this "attack on nation"?
I guess, the "concerned citizens" of India are a minority and are in no position to make any considerable change in this society. A society full of money crazy, soul selling, nation betraying anti-nationals Or those "big mouthed" non performers who call themselves "Intellectuals" Or the majority "I don"t care, its commonplace" saying idiots. Its high time for action. Those who are concerned for our beloved "Bharath Maa" and its daughters and sons, should chart out long term and short term goals and work towards achieving it.
The short term goals should be-
*Monitoring madrases, especially the ones along the Pakistan and Bangladesh border. Prescribing a violent-free interpretation of the Islamic sacred texts as the syllabus to prevent the indoctrination of students in the madrases.
*To atleast partially prohibit the media from reporting any terrorist attack and publicizing it. Media should be completely blocked out of places where terrorist attacks happen. Media should also be completely blocked out of Kashmir.
* Borders with Bangladesh and Pakistan should be completely sealed. All illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators should be sent back.
* Instead of minority appeasement and vote bank politics, Government should make tough laws and take tough actions.
The long term goals should be-
*To make people aware of the real causes and nature of terrorism. People should be explained how terrorism not only has a political motive for our neighborer, but also the religious motive deeply rooted in the Islamic doctrines for the jihadis and their supporters within the country. This could be done by publishing books, pamphlets and holding conferences, in short "mass propaganda".
*Government should corner our "hostile neighborers" in the international scene and should not be soft on them on the issues of National security. They should bring International pressure on the hostile countries to stop their terrorist activities.
Atleast now, we should wake from our self imposed sleep. Better late than never.
